UTV Interactive and #IZEA bring #SponsoredTweets to India

A new way of advertising on Twitter in India has been introduced by SponsoredTweets.com.

SponsoredTweets describes itself as an ‘advertising platform geared towards Twitter users ’ that helps marketers connect with Twitter users, and brings them together in the online marketing space.

After being launched in United States in 2009, SponsoredTweets has been brought to India by UTV Interactive and IZEA, a leading social media sponsorship company. The platform will help Twitter users monetise their account by allowing branded content on their Twitter stream.

According to SponsoredTweets,’the platform allows advertisers to hand pick individual Twitter user, including celebrities, to participate in Twitter advertising campaigns’.

How it works

  • The SponsoredTweets platform gives advertisers the opportunity to select Twitter users with influence and reach and offer them a chance to spread branded content, and be paid in return.
  • The Twitter users can on the other hand register themselves on the website and set their pay rate, find opportunities to tweet on behalf of advertisers and get paid according to cost per click or cost per tweet.
